Beef cows selling to £1731.60 at Clogher Mart

Another large entry of 1245 cattle came under the hammer for the week ending 20th March in Clogher Mart producing a strong demand in all sections.

In the fatstock ring beef cows sold to £1731-60 for a 780kg Charolais to £222 from a Pomeroy producer this was followed by a 730kg Limousin to £204 (£1489-20) from a Rosslea producer.

Cow heifers sold to £214 for a 590kg Limousin (£1262-60) for a Clogher producer with a 680kg Limousin selling to £211 (£1434-80) for an Augher producer.

Fleshed Friesian cows sold to £134 for 760kg (£1018-40).

Fat bulls sold to a top of £1638.

Fat steers sold to £229 for a 640kg Limousin (£1465-60).

Fat heifers sold to £210 for a 590kg Limousin (£1239).

In the store rings heavy steers sold to £1890 for a 840kg Limousin (£225) and £1820 for a 780kg Limousin (£233).

Forward lots sold to £1590 for a 665kg Limousin (£239) and £1550 for a 640kg Limousin (£242).

Med weights sold to £1210 for a 480kg Charolais (£252) and £1100 for a 420kg Charolais (£259).

Smaller ones to £900 for a 390kg Limousin store heifers forward lots sold to £1470 for a 640kg Charolais (£229) rising to £248 per 100kg for a 540kg Limousin to £1340.
