I’m an SEO and trends writer for National World and create content for a variety of sites across the UK including Yorkshire Evening Post, the Sheffield Star and Bristol World. I write a mix of national and regional content but specialise in content about the cost of living crisis, crime and food. Originally from South Yorkshire, I studied English Literature at York St John University before completing an NCTJ Diploma in Journalism at The Sheffield College. I have since spent my career covering interesting patches all over the country, predominantly in Yorkshire, the Midlands and the South West of England. I'm no spring chicken having been with National World for nearly 10 years. Rocking up at the Worksop Guardian pestering for a job in 2013 has since taken me to roles at the Mansfield Chad, the Derbyshire Times and the Sheffield Star before I headed down to Bristol to help launch our new City World title BristolWorld. Some of the work I am most proud of there is my work in the courts along with my contribution to our campaign on student suicide at Bristol's two universities, which won an award. I also enjoyed ranting about just how fun getting around the city can be sans car. In my spare time, I love to read about all manner of things, cook and travel - particularly to sites of historic interest as I am a big history nerd, although a wine tasting bonanza in France wouldn't go amiss.
